The Chris Irvin Concert Orchestra at Harlow Gardens RHS

The Chris Irvin Concert Orchestra comprises musicians who meet regularly to work on a broad repertoire of light classical music. The ensemble has been together for eight years and became a concert orchestra in 2017. The orchestra has a large repertoire of well-rehearsed pieces. Flexible concerts can be arranged at short notice. Over the years the group has played in churches, Victoria Gate (Leeds), Harlow Carr Gardens (Harrogate : as part of Music Sundays for the Royal Horticultural Society), theatres (Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York) and Hebden Bridge Little Theatre; also a care home in York and York Central Library.

The repertoire is broad : from Gilbert & Sullivan Selections to Les Miserables. The orchestra has also played a Mozart Piano Concerto and Saint-Saens' 3rd Violin Concerto with guest soloists. The founder and musical director, Christopher Irvin has included his own compositions, some of which have been broadcast on Classic FM, Lyric FM and Serenade Radio (recorded by the Royal Ballet Sinfonia and RTE Concert Orchestra: all available on Spotify). The ethos of the orchestra is to share with audiences a wide range of memorable music.

Please make contact if you feel the orchestra could provide suitable music for one of your events.
